The National Service Scheme (NSS) Special Camp

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Special Camp of Annai Khadeeja Arts and Science College for Women was successfully conducted from 13.12.2025 to 19.12.2025 in Mumbalai, Mumbalai Pattinam, Ammappattinam and Manamelkudi areas. During the camp, NSS volunteers actively engaged in a variety of community-oriented activities including awareness programmes on child care, safe and responsible use of mobile phones, health and hygiene, nutrition, drug abuse prevention, environmental protection and cleanliness. The volunteers carried out extensive cleanliness drives at Anganwadi centres, schools, Primary Health Centre, public library, ponds, Block Resource Centre, District Civil Court and Ammappattinam beach, creating strong awareness about sanitation and environmental conservation among the public. Special lectures and interactions by the Panchayat President Thiru Jamal Mohamed, Village Nurse Mrs. Selvi, Block Resource Centre Special Officer Mrs. Sivayogam, Headmistress Mrs. Vasuki, Honourable District Civil Judge Thiru M. Suresh Karthik, academic coordinators, professors and community leaders enriched the programme. A seminar on women entrepreneurship and economic empowerment, presided over by the College Correspondent motivated students to pursue higher education, self-confidence and entrepreneurial skills. Street plays, door-to-door campaigns and school visits further strengthened community participation and social awareness. Overall, the NSS Special Camp proved to be highly meaningful, enabling the volunteers to develop leadership qualities, social responsibility, service-mindedness and a strong commitment towards nation building and community development.
